Chemical peel – one of the most popular cosmetic procedures is a chemical peel. The main task is to exfoliate the dead skin cells. As a result of this treatment, the skin remains brighter, discolouration is reduced, and wrinkles are less visible.

What are the types of chemical peels?

Chemical peels are divided into different strengths; superficial, medium, deep.

Superficial – The AHA and BHA acid effectively penetrates the skin, stimulates the tissues to produce new collagen fibres and elastin. It helps with acne, fine lines, and wrinkles. Unlike medium depth or deep chemical peeling, superficial peels have minimal to no downtime with slight redness. You will be able to come back to your daily activities straight after the treatment.

Medium/Deep dept
– perfect for clients with melasma or deep pigmentation and scaring. Usually requires around two weeks of downtime as it involves a lot of skin peeling, redness, and sensitivity.

We use deep phyto peel and Cosmelan for deep pigmentation and scaring. AHA/ BHA/ Melanostop for solar lentigos, acne and sunspots.

Can I sunbath after the treatment?

Sunbathing or sunbeds are prohibited after any chemical peeling treatment at least for four to eight weeks.

Depending on a chemical strength, the common side effects of the chemical peel is mild sensitivity and flaky skin to deep exfoliation. Please speak with your aesthetician about the down time and after care post treatment.
