What is Microblading?

Microblading is a technique used to enhance the eyebrows according to the face structure using needles and hand tools. It is done with good care so that the eyebrows look natural and don’t seem to be touched by any process or treatment. The whole process is very precise to bring the best out of the treatment. A pen-like device does this precise treatment with 10-12 needles that do not penetrate the skin but scratch out the skin’s surface. The effect of microblading might last for up to one and a half to two years.

Are microblading eyebrows painful?

According to most people who have undergone treatment of microblading for their eyebrows, they feel some minor discomfort and pressure on their brows. This treatment takes up to 2 hours, and it is quite less painful than a tattoo. Also, the pain depends upon the personal tolerance of the person who has made up the mind to undergo microblading. Many sessions might be preferred according to the person who is doing the treatment and the person on whom the treatment is being done.

How is it done?

This treatment is started by first numbing the eyebrows. It takes around 40-45 minutes to numb the eyebrow so that the person doesn’t feel anything while the work through a needle is being performed.
After the numbing process, the whole face is being measured by the practitioner, and they try to figure out the best look for eyebrows that will be suitable for the person according to their face shape, size, and structure.

Then the needling process is started, and the gentle stroking of needles on and near the eyebrows is begun. The cleanliness around the eyebrows is also done. Every stroke done during the treatment holds equal and important value as every little stroke can enhance or destroy the overall look.

The one doing it must have steady hands and should be experienced so that one can rely upon the practitioner and do the treatment without any hurry or doubt in mind.

After the needlework is done, a final layer of pigment is applied, which has to wash off in some hours as conveyed by the practitioner.

The final look is ready with sharpness and precision flaunted in the eyebrows. After this, some practitioners provide a time of mainly 7-8 weeks, after which a top-up session is performed to fill up any gaps present in the eyebrows.

In the meantime, before the top-up and after the treatment, the given instructions must be followed, like not pricking or itching the eyebrows. On some days, there might be some changes visible in the eyebrows like changing of colours or becoming flaky, but all this is normal and will go away in some time, and if there would be any changes required, that can be done in the top-up period to make the eyebrow look better and enhanced.

The treatment effects would go away in like a year or two. Till then, one can flaunt their eyebrows to any extent they want. But to further maintain it, they need to have treatments repeatedly, every time after the effect is gone.
